MUSIC AND LYRICS BY ABIGAIL AND SHAUN BENGSON

“I will let my heart break.  What else can you do?”

“Hundred Days” is an exhilarating and heartrending true story about embracing uncertainty, taking a leap, and loving as if you only had 100 days to live. With magnetic chemistry and anthemic folk-punk music, creators Abigail and Shaun Bengson explore a fundamental question: how do we make the most of the time that we have?

SUMMER

Winner of the Opera America Discovery Award. Alice Tierney follows four archeologists who unearth the mysterious history of Alice Tierney; an infamous woman in 1880s Philadelphia. Tierney’s death was officially recorded as a suicide but others claim she was actually murdered. As the archeologists unearth her home, they also create multiple Alices; projections of who she might have been. This new opera explores how we construct and tell our stories, and how our stories shape the way we see ourselves and the world.

WHAT ARE MY HOPES FOR THE NEW YEAR AND BEYOND?

  • Intentionally cultivate relationships with companies I’ve yet to work with, while still doing work with ones that I LOVE and ADORE (excited that this is already happening).
  • Stop waiting for people to find me, and stop being afraid to ask them to hire me.
  • Record more of my own music!
  • Perform at some venues I consider scary.
  • Be less afraid about vocalizing and verbalizing dreams I think are “too unrealistic”.
